In 1936, the centennial of Cannon County, Doak Printing Company (Manchester, Tennessee) published Sterling Spurlock Brown's History of Woodbury and Cannon County, Tennessee. It was reprinted by the Cannon County Historical Society (Woodbury, Tennessee) in 1976. Brown's History is currently out of print, and copies are difficult to find. It has been eclipsed by Robert L. Mason's History of Cannon County, Tennessee.
